The Padrón 1926 80th Anniversary Series™
Padron 1926 80 Year Anniversary Perfecto cigars are an exquisite, extremely limited release - the first perfecto rolled by the company in its more than 40 years in business. The 6 3/4-inch-long perfectos measure 54 ring gauge at their fattest point, are made in Estelí, Nicaragua, by one buncher and only one torcedor which rolls the shape. Blended with Padron's rarest vintage leaves and limiting production to only 300 cigars per day. “It’s going to be very limited coming out,” said Jose Padrón Sr, president of the company. “It’s going to come out very slowly,” said Jorge Padrón as a visitor puffed on an unbanded sample of the cigar, which is among the company’s bolder blends, with prominent flavors of dark chocolate and vanilla and a long finish. He said, “I don’t see production of that cigar going over 40,000 cigars a year.”
Padron 1926 40th Anniversary Series Torepdo
The 1926 40th Anniversary Torpedo cigar is box pressed cigar features a silky, smooth Nicaraguan wrapper now available in both Natural and Maduro. The Padron 40th Anniversary Torpedo is part of the exclusive Padron 1926 line and is even more rare, with only 16,000 released every year. Like all Padron 1926 cigars the tobacco is aged for 5 years, yet there is something subtle and compelling about the unigue flavors of the 40th Anniversary Torpedo. The Padron 40th Anniversary smokes with more intensity than the other Padron 1926's; it uses hints of dark chocolate as undertones to the more spicey flavors the cigar delivers. Cigar Aficionado made the Padron 40th Anniversary Torpedo the "Cigar of the Year" for 2004 and claims it, "may be the best cigar Padron has ever made."
